Training Description:
Judicial elections present unique ethical challenges that require candidates to balance campaign activities with the obligations of judicial impartiality, integrity, and independence. This program provides an overview of the ethical rules governing judicial campaigns in Nevada, with a focus on Canon 4 of the Nevada Code of Judicial Conduct and relevant advisory opinions issued by the Standing Committee on Judicial Ethics.
Participants will explore the ethical boundaries of campaign speech and political activity, limitations on campaign promises and commitments, campaign fundraising and contribution reporting requirements, and the enforcement mechanisms applicable to judicial candidates. This program offers guidance and best practices for navigating judicial campaigns while maintaining public confidence in the judiciary.
