Training Description: The settlement conference is a powerful tool in the judge’s toolbox for case resolution. The Nevada Supreme Court Rule 252(2) states that the purpose of a settlement conference is to facilitate good faith discussions to resolve any criminal case before the district court in a manner that serves the interest of justice. Join us as the Honorable James Shirley (11 JD) discusses the ins-and-outs of the criminal settlement conference and provides practical best practices tips for the district court judge.
Who Should Attend: This course is designed for all Nevada general jurisdiction judges. Note: Meets NDJ Core Competency “Judicial Skills” (JS).
