Training Description: During this interactive session, Kay Engler, Esq., will discuss the meaning of addiction, how it effects those in the court and legal community and those on the bench in particular. Ms. Engler will also help you explore questions such as, What are our duties to report substance abuse? What are we seeing on the bench? How do you handle certain situations that arise in and around your courtroom? Where do you get help and what more, if anything, needs to happen?
This course is designed for all judicial officers, quasi-judicial officers, and court staff. Meets NDJ Core Competency "Judicial Office" (JO).
